Woodworking Formere Mortals – Tips and Techniques!

There are many woodworking projects for mere mortals on the internet. Some of them are so simple and easy that you can make a few items for your home in just one weekend. There is also a very popular woodworking website called “woodsheaven”. This site is for people who are interested in building furniture and other woodworking projects of their own. I have been a member of this website for over seven years, and have made some great craft pieces that I am now selling.

So why is there such a buzz about woodworking for mere mortals? It’s simple. The internet has made it possible for anyone to make a fortune online with little or no experience. Steve Randa and I have both become internet millionaires because we decided to focus on woodworking as a business.

If you are like me and enjoy reading blogs on many subjects, especially carpentry I can tell you that april fools day is the first day that I have posted something on my blog. It was actually about woodworking. I was writing about my new portable gazebo that I built using a blueprint that I found online. On april fools day I posted:

“If I had a dollar for every post that I have put on youtube concerning woodworking, I would be rich right now.” – steve ramsey “I have a friend who builds houses with his dad. I told him that I’d help him if he wanted to sell his house. His reply was, ‘you can’t do that’, and then he went on to explain how stupid my plans were.”

In my earlier post I noted that Steve didn’t have a net worth of $6 million. I guess that means that he doesn’t have to worry too much about being able to support his family in the event of his death. He is certainly qualified to pass that test, because he is living proof that anyone can achieve anything if they really want to.

“A lot of people feel like they’re just too old to do this stuff. That’s not true. I’m in my early twenties, and have been working out for nearly five years. In that time I have trained myself to make some pretty cool stuff. All it takes is a little bit of stupid going in, and that’s what I learned from my friend.”

I didn’t get to know Steve until april of this year. My wife noticed that he was spending a lot more time in front of the computer than usual and asked why. We watched a video he had put together on how to become a YouTube star, and then she got him to sign up. By the end of April we were watching videos every day of his newest stuff, and I was blown away by his ability to draw attention to his videos and make them popular. (If you want a visual example of one of his YouTube epics, check out the one in the resource box below.)

He also has a website and MySpace profile, so that he can sell all of his pieces online. So far he has sold a woodworking book and several instructional woodworking videos. If you want to take advantage of his popularity, don’t let anything stop you! Here are some tips on how to succeed in woodworking:

Learn as much as you can. The best way to learn something new is to actually experience it. This is especially important when it comes to DIY projects. You need to get out there and actually build things or figure out how they work. Otherwise, all your learning will be a waste of time!

Buy the best tools you can afford. Even if you have some good do-it-yourself tools, you need professional grade equipment when you’re working with woodworking machines or woodworking plans. Do not skimp when it comes to quality tools. You will be amazed at what you can create with some quality tools. Plus, you will be so much happier having the highest quality tools at your disposal.

Join a woodworking class. Yes, it is possible for beginners to get some great instructions online, but there are some real life experts who can help you with your woodworking needs. You just need to spend an hour or two a week with them to get everything you need. And yes, you will pay more for a one-on-one instructor over the internet, but the investment is definitely worth it!

If you put in the work and the time to become an expert woodworker, you will never look back. Your friends will think you are the next Pablo Picasso. You will truly be the next Marlon Brando or Clark Gable! But, you will also be proud of yourself because you took on the challenging task of learning woodworking and now you are living your dream!
